The practice team is growing, will you be a part of it?
We are looking for an Optical Assistant to join the expanding David Burghardt Vision Care team. Optical experience will be useful but isn’t a requirement, as training will be provided. (a willingness to learn is essential!) The successful candidate will help to deliver the highest standards of eye care, providing a first class patient experience. With an active role in the Practice team, daily tasks will include:
- Reception duties
- Patient interaction
- Diary management
- Telephone calls
- Contact lens ordering and deliveries
- Clinical imaging scans (optomap, OCT, Fields)
- Patient recalls
*Further training, such as Spectacle dispensing, may be available to successful candidates.

- Invitation to an ‘in person’ interview
Only successful candidates will be invited to an ‘in person’ interview. The interview will take place in the practice, giving you a chance to meet the team and see what we do. During this stage we’ll discuss a few things in more detail:
- What you know about us and the job role (our website is a great place to do some research)
- Your work experience and how it links to the job role
- Why we’re different and what makes you different
- Your availability and salary expectations
Sometimes we may invite you back for a second interview, depending on the number of applicants.
Following the ‘in person’ interviews, we will contact the successful candidate/s to offer a position within the David Burghardt Vision Care Team. We’ll set a start date and then your new career in optical health care will begin.
