The practice team is growing, will you be a part of it?

We are looking for an Optical Assistant to join the expanding David Burghardt Vision Care team. Optical experience will be useful but isn’t a requirement, as training will be provided. (a willingness to learn is essential!) The successful candidate will help to deliver the highest standards of eye care, providing a first class patient experience. With an active role in the Practice team, daily tasks will include:

  • Reception duties
  • Patient interaction
  • Diary management
  • Telephone calls
  • Contact lens ordering and deliveries
  • Clinical imaging scans (optomap, OCT, Fields)
  • Patient recalls

*Further training, such as Spectacle dispensing, may be available to successful candidates.

  1. Phone call

Don’t worry, it’s nothing scary. We’ll give you a call to have a chat about your CV – Work experience, hobbies and what makes you you. We’ll see what you know about us and how you think you’ll fit the team.  If we think there’s a match we’ll invite you onto the next stage.

  1. Invitation to an ‘in person’ interview

Only successful candidates will be invited to an ‘in person’ interview. The interview will take place in the practice, giving you a chance to meet the team and see what we do. During this stage we’ll discuss a few things in more detail:

  • What you know about us and the job role (our website is a great place to do some research)
  • Your work experience and how it links to the job role
  • Why we’re different and what makes you different
  • Your availability and salary expectations

Sometimes we may invite you back for a second interview, depending on the number of applicants.

Job offer

Following the ‘in person’ interviews, we will contact the successful candidate/s to offer a position within the David Burghardt Vision Care Team. We’ll set a start date and then your new career in optical health care will begin.
